2012 Innovative Grant Program

Do you have an idea for a project that would improve your neighborhood? The Neighborhood Innovative Grant from the City of Tacoma and the Neighborhood Council program is taking applications for “… beautification or physical improvement projects in the right-of-way (sidewalk, street, common areas) that benefit the community.”

The money is set aside by the City for citizen-initiated small-scale physical improvement projects such as lighting, improving ADA accessibility or barrier removal, signage, pedestrian safety, trees, blight removal, murals, ruminants rental, traffic calming measures, and some community garden elements.

To help applicants through the process, the City will be providing workshops to answer questions, assist in scoping an eligible project, and help applicants create qualifying applications. New to the program this year, the City will also make available one-on-one grant application sessions to help neighborhoods get their applications in line, and set their projects up to be successful.

Applications are due April 27. For more information, visit www.cityoftacoma.org
