Awesome, I’m not going to be able to make it, but more farmers markets are excellent for the community, and I’m especially excited to see one in my neighborhood.
And because I’m contractually obligated to bring it up, you know what else would be great for Sixth Ave? I’ll give you a hint: It’s an inexpensive but life saving investment and rhymes with “plike dane.”
Sorry, I’ll go away now.

How was the community discussion? I wanted to attend, but had a schedule conflict.

Really great turnout. I would say easily 50 people, probably more. There was an opportunity for some group brainstorming of “cool ideas”, and then also breakout into more specialized areas, such as promotion, vendor recruiting, community outreach, fundraising, etc.–sort of ad hoc committees, if you will. There is a ton of energy in the community, and this thing has the potential to be really successful.
(There was one neighbor with some parking concerns…stock Sixth Ave area sorta stuff where someone doesn’t want to accept the fact that they live in a thriving neighborhood and might not be able to park in front of their house all of the time. I got the sense that the sentiment wasn’t widely shared amongst those who turned out, but the moderators did cite efforts to encourage alternate methods of getting to the market, as well as “pickup locations” where people who may have parked a distance from the market could leave their purchases and then drive by to pick them up. Also cited was the fact that Tuesday nights aren’t a busy parking night for the area compared to Thur-Sat.)
There’s my mostly non-specific brain dump. Any specific questions?

Thanks! You covered my main questions/concerns. I’m especially pleased to hear that the turnout and energy were good.
