A Bit of the Foss on Sixth Avenue

This bit of news came to us via the Sixth Avenue Business District newsletter:

Several retail stores currently on the East side of the Foss – you know, the side that we can’t get to (easily) anymore – are joining together and moving to Sixth Avenue. The stores are Suradi Imports, Tahoma Imports, Rain City Antiquities, and Dockmandu. All four will have selected merchandise at 606 North Prospect. They expect to be open in time for Art On the Ave on July 13th.

One last note. According to the newsletter, the owners of this new venture haven’t decided on name yet. If you suggest the winning name (where and how we don’t know), there is a prize.

Too lazy to check the map…that’s where Bacchante was, right? Good space! And good addition to the neighborhood…non-restaurants on Sixth FTW!

I certainly haven’t been to their shops since the bridge closure. I used to go there every 3 months or so. Ditto the recycled building materials store. They will get much more exposure on 6th.

That will be great! We went down to Dockmandu once and loved it, but it’s easy to forget when it’s hidden down there where it’s really hard to get to. I look forward to the move.

    Re: Name Ideas…
“Dock of the Bay” sound good to anyone besides me?
They get to keep part of Dockmandu, yet they all get a reference to Commencement Bay.
