A Hotel for the Foss? Maybe? Finally?
A decision last week by the Washington State Supreme Court opens the door for the the development of a long-delayed hotel on Tacoma’s Foss Waterway. The question now is whether or not we will see a hotel.
The Court turned down an attempt to appeal an earlier lower court decision that KS Tacoma Holdings LLC, the owner of the Hotel Murano, had no standing to block the permitting of the proposed Foss Waterway hotel project.
It’s a saga that we’ve been writing about for a while now, but this seems to close the chapter that involves KS Holdings and the Murano, as their lawyer has said there are no further plans to appeal. As we turn the page though, several years on, and in a far different economy from the one we had when the conversation about a hotel in that location began, the question is whether the project will go forward.
So, legal challenges are cleared, permits, etc should be attainable; will it happen?
