A New Hotel in Downtown Tacoma?

Here are the details as we know them:

The warehouse & parking lot to the north of the Heidelberg Brewery sold in March for $1M. The registered owners are KIM HAN & MIHYUNG of Seattle. Their address happens to be the same as a Holiday Inn Express near the Seattle Center.

A sleuthing tipster determined that Kim Han is a partner in a company called Hotel Concepts. They own and manage hotels throughout the Puget Sound and seem particularly hot on Bremerton right now.  Hotel Concepts made news earlier this year by indicating their interest in purchasing the former Bremerton City Hall building to replace it with a 160-room hotel. Back in 2004 they built a $20 million waterfront hotel there – the city’s first new hotel in 20 years.

Will they do the same in Tacoma with their newly acquired property? Our tipster’s Magic 8 Ball says, “Without a doubt.”
