A.F. Evans Passing on Winthrop Hotel

In case you haven’t heard, it would appear that A.F. Evans has let its option on the Winthrop expire and the building is back on the market.  A.F. Evans still hopes to be involved in the building, but would need additional funds from the city and state to cover the shortfalls created by increased project costs.

Can’t tell you how annoying these kind of articles are. We’ve got some big issues at hand… just got some relevant chatter going on about billboards, and exit133 pushes important issues further down with fluff stories about hair art. City corruption, no viable emergency evacuation plans… but no, let’s make the top story about fashion.

    Dear Don Link,
    Ever hear of

THE BETTER YOU LOOK, THE MORE YOU SEE?

I think the reason Exit133 is the most popular blog in T-Town is because it transends hard news, rumors and hot button issues to bring us slices of real life. Art and socializing are what makes discussing and fighting for everything else worth while.

The most clicked article on Exit133 last year was for the opening of a bar. Clearly, readers want to enjoy great events like this.

Thanks Marty. We care about our city, but we also like to have fun. You said it perfectly.

Looking forward to this event tonight to showcase Tacoma artist Lisa Kinoshita’s take on the 253heart in precious metals and stainless steel.

And for Don, just a crazy thought here my friend….skip past the article?…..

I’m too lazy to look, but how many regular writers were there in 2008? New writers and columns have been popping up in the past couple months, which is a great direction. More writers contributing regularly = more stuff getting covered.

And not to beat a dead horse, but seriously it isn’t a travesty to post “fluff” pieces about local events. Plenty of readers enjoy those articles, too.

We are on track for an average of 32.5 stories per month in 2011. I will concede that 2010 brought a lot of changes to Exit133, but I am doing my best to develop and begin partnerships within the community to drive content and development. We have a few things up our sleeves that we look forward to sharing with you all.

Will you be drawing a cartoon too Dan? I know you can.
