Almost Bocce Season... Start Warming Up

Folks seem to be excited about bocce this year.

For those new to Exit133, here’s how it works.  We play bocce in Wright Park on Thursday nights.  This isn’t that fancy lawnbowling game with manicured lawns and dress whites.  We play over tree roots, hills, holes, and across paths.  We throw the jack any way we feel like going.  Dogs are obstacles and part of the game.  To be honest, it seems rare that anybody actually keeps score.  This is more about getting outside, meeting people, and playing games in the park.

Once the sun goes down, folks tend to head to the drinking establishment of choice for the evening.

When are we starting?  My official position is the next Thursday with reasonable weather.  This week won’t work as you all have to be at the community garden meeting.  Next week could work, but I’ll be late.  If one of last year’s regulars wants to lead the charge, we could make it official…

Most of the folks that showed up last year knew none of the other players before their first time.  Now, the Thursday night bocce crowd is becoming its very own community within the Exit133 community.  I expect to see many more of you this year.  Who’s in?
