Anderson Announces Re-Election Bid

City Council races in the last few years haven’t been particular exciting – at least as a spectator sport.  This year is looking to be different.  Julie Anderson is throwing her hat back in for another round of City Council fun:

TACOMA — City Councilmember Julie Anderson announced today that she is seeking re-election to her at-large position.

During her first term on the Council, Anderson built a strong reputation as a tireless listener and dedicated representative who is extremely knowledgeable about the city and committed to all citizens. Her inclusive policy resulted in a long list of successes ranging from preserving open space to the selection of the new City Manager. “It’s important every side of an issue gets heard,” Anderson said. “It’s my job to ask the tough questions, then pay close attention to the answers before arriving at a decision.”

Anderson will work with Katie Rose as her campaign manager, and with Jason Bennett as treasurer.

“I am excited and eager to serve the citizens of Tacoma for the next four years,” Anderson said. “There are many important issues, such as creating and keeping high-wage jobs, that will require close attention,” she continued. “Citizens can look for an honest campaign from me that will live up to the high standards established in my first campaign and term.”

Let the fun begin.
