Appointment Process Continues Tomorrow ...

Today’s Tacoma City Council Study Session gave us a first glimpse at our new council. Councilmembers Marty Campbell, Joe Lonergan, and Victoria Woodards found seats at the table. Mayor Strickland is wielding the gavel with Deputy Mayor Fey in the next seat over. Connie Ladenburg, Julie Anderson, Rick Talbert, and Mayor Baarsma are no longer in the room.

The primary agenda item today was the appointment process to fill the two vacant seats. As you recall, the process began last year – most recently with a 3 minute presentation by each applicant. Tomorrow, the City Council will go into Executive Session to discuss the qualifications of the candidates. Once complete, they’ll open up the special meeting to the public and discuss which applicants will be asked to interview at a future date. The interviews will be open to the public.

I wonder who’s going to make the short list …
