Art On Center now Artists' Owned Collective

The Art On Center gallery recently relocated from Center Street to 608 Fawcett, next door to the Grand Cinema. They are changing yet again and now the AOC stands for Artists’ Owned Collective.

From the TacomaArt listserv: Artists will have their work represented by an established Tacoma gallery. The new location offers better visability and your work will be exposed to a large list of new potential clientele. The artists will be juried in by a 6 member board that has been formed to spearhead this gallery.

There seems to be an increase of coop/collective opportunities for artists in Tacoma from creative opportunities to gallery space, like that above. We’ve been following along with the Tacoma Art Place as well as the Broadway Artist Cooperative on Opera Alley.

These are good steps for the arts community here and we hope it helps to strengthen the “Creative Class” of Tacoma.
