Art Walk Tomorrow - March 20th

Tomorrow is Art Walk and there are a few special things to look forward to…

The Fulcrum Gallery on MLK Way will debut a new show. Galen McCarty Turner, a local artist, works with neon and other gasses to produce atypical lights in his sculptures. The show is called “Impractical Luminescence.” Galen hasn’t really shown up on the gallery circuit in Tacoma, but you might know him anyway. He’s the guy with the rocket on top of his car.

The Helm is opening a new show called “Children of Nature” with artists who focus on the natural world. The show promises plants, animals and (gasp!) gnomes.

Up at the Impromptu Gallery a show of the gallery’s ten contributing artists opens.

The usual menagerie of galleries and museums will also be open. Get out and enjoy a spring night!

Were going to go see the Chuck Close at Tacoma Art Museum. My wife and I are Chuck Close fans.

You have to check the wonderful art at Fulcrum Gallery. Impractical Luminescence, neon art by Galen Turner, through May 11, open by appointment and Sunday noon to 6 p.m., 1308 Martin Luther King Jr. Way. Here is a taste of what will be showing for the next 2 months from The Weekly Volcano.

May not be open this Sunday since it is Easter – but make plans for next Third Thursday (if not before)
