Art @ Work Returns for Another Artsy November

November is Art at Work Month in Tacoma.

This is the 11th year of the annual celebration of art in our community. Mayor Strickland is scheduled to officially proclaim November 2012 as Art at Work Month in Tacoma at today’s City Council meeting. On Thursday the month kicks-off with an opening party and the awarding of the 2012 Amocat Awards. Events will continue all month, including some more unusual offerings such as comedy acts, food pairings presentations, an interactive open house at FabLab Tacoma, and more. A long list of live music, gallery and studio open houses, and other events are also planned for the month. A full list, including many free events, is available on the Art @ Work webpage.

Opening Party & AMOCAT Awards
Kick off November in style while enjoying appetizers, dessert, no-host bar, music by the Tacoma Youth Symphony, and exhibits in the Museum galleries. Help honor the 2012 funding recipients and AMOCAT Award winners – KeyBank, The Grand Cinema, and Katy Evans. The AMOCAT awards recognize those in the community who provide distinctive contributions to the arts through their support and artistic innovation.
