Asarco Plan Approved by Bankruptcy Judge
Once upon a time there were four companies vying for the old Asarco property in Ruston. Then there was one. That one, MC Construction from Lacey, won approval from the bankruptcy court judge overseeing the Asarco case to purchase the property for just under $14 million. There’s fine print of course. Will this plan create the “next Mercer Island” as described by somebody in the TNT a few months ago. We’ll see.

While I wish it didn’t take soft drinks in schools to fun it, I am uber-excited about the return of sports to middle schools in Tacoma. I am still in disbelief that they’ve been gone for so long.

Is this being funded by evil flashing digital billboards that may cause blindness and seizures in our youth and the adults who are exposed to them? The horror! The horror!
Kidding aside, this is positive news for Tacoma’s middle schools. More opportunities for physical activity and competition is a good thing.
