Bayview Restaurant Opens
We noticed tonight that the new Bayview restaurant is open. They opened Monday without a lot of fanfare … or at least, everyone seems to have missed it, since we can’t find a post anywhere about their opening.
In case you don’t remember, new owners bought out Cafe by the Bay in the Stadium District a couple months back. They’ve painted inside and out and changed from the Vietnamese/Thai menu to an American menu. It’s too cold for the deck, of course, but we did treat ourselves to some tasty baked macaroni inside.
Look for them on St. Helens next door to The Metropolitan.

So far, everything we’ve had at The Bayview is really really fresh and done well. The owner wants to do it right and he seems to be. Go, get something, and revel in one of the best secret views of the bay.

the owner is the former head cook from the spar. he had a different “philosophy” than the new head cook and it shows in both places. bayview food = pretty dang good so far. spar food = slowly slipping downhill

the spar on thursday night has a rocking guest chef. Parley that into the change.
