Best of the Northwest - Free Community Festival at Tacoma Art Museum

Tacoma Art Museum will mark its 75th anniversary with a celebration of participatory art tomorrow, July 31, starting at 11am.

Members of CLAW will kick off the event with a demonstration of chalk art – and participants are encouraged to create their own sidewalk art masterpieces, or start their own “chalk-offs”.

At 11:30, a dump truck full of letters of the alphabet arrives in Tollefson Plaza. Wordsmithing madness is sure to follow.

These events will be followed by a host of performances and kite-flying (1 complimentary koi kite will be provided for each visitor).

Art. Downtown. These two words seem to be paired frequently lately, and this is the perfect opportunity to experience it.
