Big Changes Coming to Stadium District?

From what I hear, there may be some pretty significant changes coming to the Stadium District.  What’s the rumor?  That the Thriftway folks (Stadium Thriftway I assume, but I don’t have details) have purchased or will purchase the car lot across the street from Stadium Thrifty.  There’s still a few years left on the lease so Bruce Titus isn’t going anywhere soon, but this could mean that changes are coming to the area.  Can you imagine a Stadium District with some new mixed use construction?  Can you imagine it without a huge car lot in the middle of its commercial core?  I hope there’s a bit of vision in this project because there’s so much potential. 

p.s. This is classified as rumor and speculation because I’ve heard it from three distinct people that heard it through ‘the grapevine.’  I don’t know if they were all hanging from the same grapevine or independent vines, so it is what it is…
