BLID Update for Aug. 25, 2008
The Broadway LID is plowing on ahead. It’s kinda fun coming in to work everyday and wondering which street will be closed today. Okay, maybe not. But it is nice to see progress being made. This week work on the Vintage Y storm sewer is in full swing. There will be crews digging up and replacing the storm sewer on St. Helens for most of the week. St. Helens will be limited to local and emergency vehicles and many of the parking stalls will be unavailable. In other words, avoid at all costs.
Happy Driving!

I wouldn’t tell people to “avoid at all costs”, there are businesses along these roads that are dealing with parking issues do to the construction.
So please come down to the area and Drink, Buy, Eat!

I agree with Jake. I live on St. Helens by PSP and while construction has been a bit frustrating the crews seem to be doing their best to accomodate everyone.
Parking is limited, expecially during the daytime hours, but even with them shutting down portions of 7th I still haven’t had to park more than half a block away.
So, long story short…come visit PSP, the Mix, Maxwells, etc.

The nice woman flagger actually walked me across the street one day.
I havn’t had a crossing guard do that for me in 40 years.
Nice folks working on that BLID.

Man are the messages getting mixed. Just when I thought the parking requirements were killing downtown, I find out that the reduced availability of parking is actually killing downtown!
