Bocce in the Narrows Business District Tonight

It’s Thursday which means we’re heading out to play bocce again tonight. This evening we’ll be playing in the Narrows Business District. This will be a low key evening. No balloons and fancy party favors this week. Many folks will be starting the night with some food from JT’s Barbeque (7104 6th Ave Tacoma) or a bit of wine tasting just around the corner at Wild Side Wine (608 S. Oxford). Bocce will start out across Sixth Avenue from JT’s and extend to … every spot of grass we can find. There are several in the area.

If you haven’t been out, you should definitely come out and play with us. No need to know the rules. We’re friendly and can explain the game in less than 2 minutes.

Games will start between 5:30 and 6:00.

Tonight’s winner will receive a gift certificate to JT’s Barbeque and an Exit133 T-shirt.

Are we going to play in the rain?

Are we going to play in the rain?

We’ll try. We’ll start and see what happens. If it’s unbearable … we’ll improvise.

That said, I’m an optimist. There’s blue sky up there somewhere.

Well, if it is still raining, we’ll just have to eat extra barbeque and taste some more wine. There are worse things!

Okay, that was a hoot — playing bocce in the rain!

    Thanks everyone for the fun!

    Hi,
I rode my bicycle over to Skyline P&R, but ended up hanging out at Wildside. The owner, Carol, thought some of the bocce players may stop by. I didn’t see any wet bocce players, while I was there. Do this area again and stop by for a wine tasting at Wildside Wines.

    Rode home in the rain.

Oh, Carla, I’m so sorry we missed you!! Three of us biked over, also. We checked at Wildside when we first arrived and it didn’t seem open. Some of us ate at JT’s and then we played on the fire station lawn right by the park and ride. When we finished we rode and drove over to Ben Dew’s Clubhouse Grille to dry off and visit. We should have stopped by Wildside first! It had stopped raining by the time we rode home.
