Bon Om Tuk Dragon Boat Festival on Saturday

This Saturday the Asian American Dragon Boat Association (AADBA) will be celebrating the sport of dragon boat racing on the Thea Foss Waterway. The race will take place on a 500 meter course between the Foss Waterway Seaport Museum and Thea’s Park.

The event will include an Eye-Dotting Ceremony, to awaken the dragon boats from their year long slumber, special guest speakers including the Mayor and Governor Gregoire, and a raffle with prizes like a trip to Hawaii, Cambodian and Thai DVDs, and a Plasma TV to feel like it’s all happening in your living room.

There will also be cultural performances, exhibits, and great food like Awk Ambok (sticky rice with coconut juice and banana). Yum.
