Booth Gardner Moving to Tacoma

A very insightful and special tipster heard something today that I thought we should share.  From what we hear, Booth Gardner, Washington’s governor from from 1985 to 1992, is moving (back) to Tacoma.

Gardner was born in Tacoma in 1936.  He got a BA from the University of Washington and a MBA from Harvard.  He Joined the state Senate in 1970.  Skip ahead a few years and he was elected governor in 1984.  He served two terms and chose not to run again in 1992.  After being governor, he served as the ambassador to the World Trade Organization from 1994 to 1997.  Gardner was diagnosed with parkinson’s disease in 1995.  He frequently gives speeches on the disease and his name is attached to the Booth Gardner Parkinson’s Care Center at Kirkland’s Evergreen Health Care Center.

Our understanding is that his move to Tacoma from Vashon coincides with his ‘retirement’.  Where is he moving to?  Mr. Gardner is moving to a home in the Stadium District near the old Washington State History Museum building.  That’s as specific as we need to be for today…
