The Downtown Tacoma Farmer’s market is full of good fun, food and…TV celebrities (?)! That’s right, on Sept. 10th, you may find yourself face to face with Chris (CJ) Jacobson from Bravo TV’s Top Chef Season 3. Starting at 10:30am, Mr. Jacobson will shop for local produce to be used in a 12 noon cooking demonstration at the main stage. Following the show will be prize giveaways and autograph signings. Sponsored by Click! Networks, Tacoma Farmer’s Market, and Bravo TV, this is his only appearance in the state of Washington.
Those of you that watch Top Chef know exactly who we’re talking about. For the rest of you … Bravo runs lots of reruns. Now that we look back at this post, face to face might be a bit of a challenge unless you’re over 6’ 6” …

The downtown FM is the only one I never go to. Too many flower booths, not much serious shopping. Has it changed from that? I’ve avoided it since the 6th Ave market opened. It helps too that I can walk to the 6th Ave market.

The downtown market has come a long way. Far fewer flower vendors (but still enough!) and way more meat, cheese, eggs and serious produce!
But please, if 6th is closer, shop there! Support your neighborhood market!

Click! had a raffle and Bravo gave out 3 Top Chef bags each having a new laptop in it among other things… Wish I would have signed up!
