Call for Writers - South Sound Users Guide

The South Sound Users Guide we wrote about last month is moving right along, and as we write this, they’re at just over half of the $22,000 they need to begin to make the dream a reality. But they still need your help. You can still contribute and take advantage of the fabulous thank yous being offered – and the sense of pride you’ll get from knowing you did your part to help this special project get off the ground.
They’re also looking for your creative help. Besides the financial aspect, they need writers to cover the 50+ “hubs” in Pierce, Thurston, and Mason counties. They’re making a call for writers for immediate, short-term, paid assignments to cover shopping, food, arts and culture, and outdoor activities in these hubs for The South Sound Users Guide.
The list of locations they plan to cover is an ambitious one, and they’re open to input on other potential topics. From the description on the project website, the task for writers is to develop brief descriptions of the sights and experiences in one or more hub areas, written with a sense of place and personality.
This sounds like a fun project to be a part of – even if they weren’t paying their writers – and we know some of you can wax eloquent about your favorite spots in and near Tacoma. If you’re interested, you’ll want to let them know soon, as they hope to make all assignments very soon, and accept final drafts by March 15th.
