Calling All History Enthusiasts

Calling all history enthusiasts: Tacoma Historical Society needs a few good volunteers to help out at their brand new home.

The Call Goes Out . . .

We're looking for a few – actually quite a few – good people to greet visitors, handle simple retail transactions, and generally look after the new downtown home of Tacoma Historical Society (919 Pacific Avenue in the Provident Building.)

Our posted hours are 11 am to 4 pm Wednesday through Saturday. As we expected, we've had an upsurge in numbers of visitors since we moved from our longtime location on South Cedar Street.

We've scheduled two training sessions for volunteers:

Saturday April 12th at 6:15 pm
Thursday April 17th at 10 am.

Training should take less than an hour. We're also happy to meet with volunteers individually. Let us know if you can attend. Leave a message at 253-472-3738 or e-mail us at volunteer@tacomahistory.org.

So, if you've got a few extra hours in your week, and an interest in Tacoma and its history, think about helping them out.

I like the moon in the north, just over Brown's Point.
