Canoe Planning for the Kent Valley
In June of last year a co-worker and I skipped out on our day’s meetings, dropped my cedar strip canoe into the White River around Pacific, Washington, and paddled until we got to the Ram on Tacoma’s waterfront. Now I’m looking toward the Green River and thinking, “we could do that.” I think this is how it’ll work. We find a spot in Auburn to drop in. Paddle through Kent and Tukwila. Eventually we’ll enter the industrial area of South Seattle until we pop out into Elliott Bay. Maybe we could do lunch at Salty’s on Alki. It’ll be a more urban trip. I’m sure there are lots of reasons we shouldn’t do it. I’m sure there’s at least one reason that we should. I’ll think of it eventually. Hmmm…
