Chili Cookoff at Freighhouse Square on Saturday

Do you love to eat chili? Looking for new chili recipes to try? Visit the CASI Chili Cook-Off at Freighthouse Square Saturday March 15, 2008 from 11 am – 6pm.

The Chili Appreciation Society International (CASI) is a group of chili cooks, with their local arm called the “Puget Pod.” Since it’s the weekend of St. Patrick’s, the event will have both red and green chili categories.

From the press release:

The Red and Green Chili Cook-Off is a CASI sanctioned chili cooking competition, with points and prizes awarded to the winning chili cook in both the red and green chili categories. Each spoon of chili is judged using 5 criteria: aroma, red color, consistency, taste and aftertaste. Scoring is from 0 to 10, with 10 being the highest.

Chili samples (all you can eat) will be available for $5. All proceeds will go to My Sister’s Pantry food bank. Some cook and judge spots are still available.
