Chris Sharp Wins Foundation of Art Award

Chris Sharp, one of our favorite local artists, the creator of our letterpress business cards, and fixed gear bicycle aficionado has been named the recipient of the GTCF’s “Foundation of Art Award.”

The $7,500 award recognizes Sharp’s talent and his commitment to the creative community of Tacoma and Pierce County. This regionally significant award will result in a commissioned art piece for the Community Foundation, which will be unveiled at their November 2008 Annual Luncheon.

The annual program was established by the Community Foundation to honor professional artists living in Pierce County. For this inaugural year, a committee of local art professionals nominated a total of 13 visual artists currently living in Pierce County for the commissioned art award.

Nice work, Chris. When you are done winning regionally significant awards Whitney would love to have her business cards. Pretty please??

Chris. What is it going to take to put a piece of chalk in your hand?

I’m guessing $7,600 ought to do it.

    Nice work Sharpie, congrats!
