Citizen Input for TPS Superintendent Search

Do you have any opinions about the Tacoma Public Schools and their search for a new superintendent? If so, your voice is needed at one of several community input meetings scheduled for next week.

The Tacoma Public Schools Board of Directors has set up additional community input sessions for the superintendent search Feb. 4–7 in various settings around the city. These sessions will focus on what community members feel is working in Tacoma schools and what strengths the district has to build on; what challenges the district faces and what work needs to be done; and how the community can contribute to and support that work.

Community input sessions Feb. 4–7 will be open to the public and held on:

Monday, Feb. 4
11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., Tacoma Public Schools, Central Administration Building, fourth-floor auditorium
601 S. 8th St., Tacoma

Tuesday, Feb. 5
6 to 8 p.m., Asbury United Methodist Church
5601 S. Puget Sound Ave., Tacoma

Wednesday, Feb. 6
9 to 11 a.m., Portland Avenue Community Center, 3513 Portland Ave., Tacoma
6 to 8 p.m., McIlvaigh Middle School, 1801 E. 56th St., Tacoma

Thursday, Feb. 7
6 to 8 p.m., Peace Community Center
2105 S. Cushman Ave., Tacoma
