Citizens Seeking Citizens...

…to recognize other citizens. The Tacoma City Council needs three additional Tacoma residents to join the Citizens Recognition Committee to help plan and coordinate the City of Destiny Awards program, an annual public awards ceremony which recognizes Tacoma citizens for their outstanding volunteer service.

The Citizens Recognition Committee develops the nomination tools and selection criteria, and selects the winners, for the City of Destiny Awards. The three open spots represent neighborhoods, education, and labor positions.

The City Council will review all applications and select three committee members, who will begin serving upon appointment. The Citizens Recognition Committee meets at 4 p.m. on the first Thursday of each month.
