City Planning Commission Opportunity
We know y’all have opinions about what this city looks like. So, here’s your chance to actually do something about it. The City of Tacoma’s Planning Commission has one opening for residents in Council District No. 2 (northend, downtown and northeast). The position was vacated recently with the resignation of the incumbent commissioner, and the appointee will be expected to serve through the rest of the three-year term which ends Dec. 31, 2009.
According to the City:
The Planning Commission advises the City Council on issues related to the City’s Comprehensive Plan, neighborhood planning, l and use and development regulations, transportation, capital facilities and other long- and short-range planning studies. The Planning Commission meets at 4 p.m. on the first and third Wednesdays of each month in the Council Chambers, first floor of the Tacoma Municipal Building, 747 Market St.
Not sure if you live in District 2? Check the map of Council Districts at the City Clerk’s Office or view it here.
