Co-op Potluck and Film Screening
Like a fingerprint, or a blackmail-able secret about a close friend, everybody has one unique recipe only they can make perfectly. The beauty of the potluck is the coming together of these dishes.
So, if you want to share your secret (or, more importantly, partake of others), you’ll be pleased to know that the Tacoma Food Co-op is holding its monthly potluck at Gallery Madera this Saturday, Nov. 15, from 5:30 – 7:30pm. Participants should bring a dish to share, eating utensils, and an empty stomach. Think of it as a different way to appreciate local food.
On a similarly environmental note, Madera will host a short film screening and discussion about recycling on that same Saturday. The 20-minute film, “The Story of Stuff,” investigates the unsustainable product cycle currently practiced by most American companies. A discussion will follow, lead by Bill Smith, director of environmental services for the City of Tacoma, and Tacoma artist Lynn Di Nino. This event will take place from 3 – 5pm.
