Community Budget Input Meetings, Round 2
It’s time for round two of community budget input sessions on the proposed Tacoma 2013-2014 biennial budget.
A couple weeks ago City Manager Broadnax proposed a 2013-2014 budget with cuts and revenue generators to close the City’s $63 million budget gap. That proposal included cutting over 200 positions from City Staff, along with other cuts, departmental reorganizations, and a few ideas for revenue generation.
City Council is holding regular budget workshops, and citizens have a chance to learn a little more about what’s being considered, and to weigh-in with their own thoughts at a series of community budget input meetings scheduled over the next couple weeks.
Here are the dates for this round of community budget input meetings:
- Monday, October 22, 6-8pm, Gray Middle School, 6229 S. Tyler St. Commons
- Wednesday, October 24, 6-8pm, Wheelock Library, 3722 N. 26th
- Monday, October 29, 6-8pm, Main Library, 1102 Tacoma Ave., Olympic Room
- Thursday, November 1, 6-8pm, Lincoln High School, 701 S. 37th
- Monday, November 5, 6-8pm, Center at Norpoint, 4818 Nassau Ave., NE, Cascade Room
