Cookbook Exchange on Tuesday

Tomorrow, July 21st, is Tacoma Reads Library Day at Tacoma’s 6th Avenue Farmers Market. In an effort to teach Tacomans how to prepare food with local ingredients, TFM is making it easy by giving away cookbooks. If you’ve got some good cookbooks collecting dust in your kitchen – maybe it’s time to pass them along. Bring them down to the Tuesday Market (information booth) and recycle them. There are so many options:

  • Donate your old cookbooks
  • Swap cookbooks with another community member at the market
  • Come by and grab a couple cookbooks – FREE
  • Stop by all vendor booths for FREE recipes every day!

And with all the great local meat, eggs, and produce, you’ll be off and cooking in no time …

See you at the Market!

Cool. And speaking of the 6th Ave Market, I talked to the goat vendor (Maboton Farm? Toboton????) at the Proctor Market on Saturday- he said he was thinking of pulling out of the 6th Ave one, and so were some other vendors. Too slow, not enough people. Just his opinion, I realize, and I alas haven’t made it in a few weeks. But thought I’d pass it along.

Oh no! the 6th ave market is the best because of the abundance of foodstuffs. Of course, I have to work tomorrow, so I can’t go. (sadness) I must say that goat may be a hard sell…do other vendors have problems selling?

Wow. I quit going to 6th Ave because it was too crowded last year.

A cookbook exchange?! Danger, danger Will Robinson. Never a good idea to feed an obsession. Maybe I can have a third party drop off my collection of Frugal Gourmet tomes.
