Cooks Tavern Welcomes Its First Customers

We had the pleasure last of night of joining a few friends for dinner at Cooks Tavern. The restaurant, located at North 26th and Alder, is the first Tacoma presence for Seattle-based Chow Foods. Their neighborhood restaurants include places like The Hi-Life in Ballard, 5 Spot on Queen Anne, and Endolyne Joe's in West Seattle. After a year of hard work on the building, Cooks Tavern is now ready for customers. The space has nice and warm colors, an open kitchen, and a bustle that provides energy, but isn't too loud. The food was beautifully prepared. The chicken was moist, the steak was perfectly cooked, the flavors really worked. Apologies to those of you missing the Clip 'n' Clean, but we're happy to see this addition to the neighborhood. The full menu looks great and is distinct from anything else in town. We know at least a few of you that will be very excited to check this place out.
The doors will open on Saturday and Sunday night for dinner service. The regular hours will begin on Monday, June 6th.
