Cordy Ryman Reception at Traver Tonight

Are you still looking for something to do tonight?

The Traver Gallery on Dock Street is hosting the opening reception for New York artist Cordy Ryman tonight. The show displays the breadth of Ryman’s recent work, presenting a selection of his wall-mounted abstract “paintings” along with several examples of his sculptural and larger-scale site-specific pieces.

An interesting note about Cordy is that he is the son of Merrill Wagner and Robert Ryman – both prolific 20th century minimalist painters. Robert Ryman has several works in the Guggenheim Collection and Merrill has a Retrospective opening a the New York Museum of Modern Art.

Cordy Ryman has exhibited his work widely in the United States and abroad. Tonight he opens in Tacoma. The exhibition runs through April 6th.

This was a good time – I’ll definitely be back later this month for the beer tasting and art when the BF is in town for his last Tacoma-visit pre-moving here. What better way to make him fall in love with T-Town?
