Council to Consider Resolution on Negotiations Between Click! and Fisher
UPDATE: The Tacoma City Council unanimously passed the resolution at its January 8 meeting.
An item has been added to the agenda for this evening’s City Council meeting. Proposed Resolution 38602 would encourage Fisher Communications to re-engage with Click! Network to resolve stalled negotiations for carriage of KOMO and other services to Click! customers, so they are not unduly disadvantaged.

A RESOLUTION expressing the City Council’s support of Click! Network and encouraging Fisher Communications to re-engage with Click! Network to resolve stalled negotiations for carriage of KOMO and other services to Click! Customers.
The argument between Fisher and Tacoma’s Click! cable network has been a big topic of conversation in these first few days of 2013. And apparently that includes the City Council. Negotiations between Fisher and Click! stalled out, resulting in Click! customers around Tacoma seeing Fisher stations disappear from their televisions on New Year’s. The Council can’t force Fisher to return to the negotiating table, but this resolution would show where they stand on the matter.

I’m proud of Click! and the city. Having negotiated content licenses for years I’ve seen these bully tactics before – usually the licensor is raising money for reasons other than providing more/better content. I haven’t missed the station and the one show I watch I can see on the computer via ABC’s website.

We’ve been with Click! for 10+ years and would never go with comcast or any of the other big corp cable companies, we have friends that switched and regretted it. Click treats you like a neighbor not a number and they are still cheaper and have better quality.

Click has been the best Cable company that I have had the pleasure to deal with. Always helpful, courteous, kind and the quality and price can’t be beat. This is a Cadillac service at the Chevy price.
