County Council Committee Picks 3 for Auditor
Today, in County Council chambers, the “Ad Hoc Committee To Assist with the Appointment of the Pierce County Auditor” met to select up to three candidates for Pierce County Auditor.
There were 35 respondents to the job posting. 13 individuals actually completed the full application and submitted their supporting materials. We could name those 13 … but why bore you?
Today’s committee began by reminding everybody that this is an open and public meeting and the process by which it was formed. The names and occupations of the 13 candidates were read out loud. Then, the meeting went into executive session to talk about the candidates.
The public was allowed back in an hour later. We were reminded that this is an open meeting process … then the three names were submitted via a motion.
The committee is submitting to the County Council the following individuals (in alphabetical order):
Katie Blinn (University Place)
Richard McEntee (University Place)
Jan Shabro (Lake Tapps)
Oh yeah, and remember, the Democrats still have a problem with this process and claim that it violates the Charter. So, expect the lawsuit to hit county doorsteps next week.
