Critical Line Opens May 5th - You're Invited

On May 5,  a new contemporary art center/gallery called Critical Line will be opening at 741 St. Helens.  The non-profit arts organization ArtRod is behind it – A bunch of hard working well meaning folks trying to add a layer of interest to our fair city.  From the website

...The space will feature rotating exhibitions of emerging and established artists from around the world.

The inaugural exhibition of Critical Line is called “Found Space” and features photographic works by Matthew Keeney, Kevin Haas, EJ Hercyzk, Ann Kendellen, and video by Israeli artist Ido Fluk. The curatorial team at Critical Line is working on an ambitious interdisciplinary exhibition calendar which will secure this new space as one of the top contemporary art projects in the region.

Critical Line will meld exhibitions from traditional media such as printmaking and drawing, to exploring new genres like video, projection, audio, and performance. Critical Line also features a curated retail component that will rotate with the exhibitions. The vision of Critical Line is to create a new alternative to the stoic art establishments and allow for creative exploration, experimentation, and exhibition in a space where artists are encouraged to take creative risks. Work that is being created now and next will be on view in regular rotation while working in conjunction with other ArtRod projects.

The gallery opening is May 5th from 6-9pm at 741 St. Helens.  Support the local arts scene.  Get outside.  Go for it.  You’re invited.
