DATE NIGHT: Heat Things Up

Date night could be all about going out, holding hands, and spending money on food and drinks. Sure, you could catch a movie. But what do you get when it’s done? A surreal look into some other person’s imagination? How about spending money to learn something. Cooking, for example. Then, next time, you cook in… So, mix things up a bit this week with cooking classes at Urban Gourmet and Garden. Cooking can be a great bonding experience for you and your sweetheart, whether its a first date or after 20 years together. On Saturday you can get your hands in flour while learning to make biscotti. The class includes sweet wine pairings and stories from Italy.

If you are looking for something a bit more spicy, try their class on Monday evening featuring the brothers behind Gateway to India. They will be demonstrating a variety of dishes, and will have wine and imported beer pairings with the food.

I can just see it, “Hey Ted,” She says, “That’s a delicious Murgh Vindaloo you just made in class… would you come over and show me the finer points some time?”

    Spicy, indeed.
