Do Bloggers Take Vacation?

Yesterday’s Wall Street Journal had a story called No Day at the Beach – Bloggers Struggle With What to Do About Vacation.  What to do?  Do you simply hang a sign on the door and walk out?  Do you lock a friend in a room with a computer, an internet connect, and a case of beer?  It can be a challenge to simply let it go for a bit.  What sacrifices do you make? 

The biggest challenge seems to be if your blog actually makes money from advertising.  Then, the dip in site traffic while you’re on vacation actually impacts your potential bottom line.  Fortunately for us, we don’t have advertisers to appease.  Just you… 

With that said, we’ll soon be turning off the computer, packing the car, handing our keys to the house/dog sitter, and heading someplace south for a bit.  Jamie did a stellar job guest moderating the last time we took a break and he has agreed to take on the daunting task once more.  The “contact page”:/contact/ will fire emails to Jamie while we’re gone.  Be nice.
