Dodgeball Starts at the YMCA
The fine folks at GritCity tell us that the Morgan Family Branch of the YMCA is set to host a bit of dodgeball on Monday, August 6th. I have fond memories of dodgeball. I think my skills peaked around fourth grade, but I still remember it with fondness. Ahhh… there’s something special about the smell of the red rubber ball as it hits one’s face.
If you’re like me and can’t make it on Monday, maybe you should take up faceball. The violence of dodgeball in the comfort of your own office. I see a long winter of faceball tournaments in our future. Start practicing now.

About a year ago I looked to rent an upper floor unit on the complex south side.
The unit was advertised as a 1 bedroom, but the bedroom area was more like a corral with a half height wall, and the area placement was near the door to the main hallway. I guess that placement can be an entertaining feature depending on which side of the door you’re at on a particular evening.
If you first enter the building on the A ST side you might find the contemporary layout and color scheme quite impressive.
As for the unit that I looked to rent, I would classify it in that generic term “efficiency unit.” The basics are there; add your imagination.

It looks like this unit looks out to the south. I would wait before buying in Cliff St. Lofts. I want to see what Russell’s decision will be, because the lot to the southwest is one of the potential sites being marketed as a new Russell headquarters. Oh, how I would love to have a unit that would enable me to watch THAT building go up and eventually block my afternoon sun!

I sent this suggestion to your email from your Iggyshouse posting as well, but you and the other sellers in the Cliff Street Lofts should throw a combined Open House and set it up as a progressive breakfast, or lunch. Set a “starting unit” where beverages are served, send each buyer to the next unit where light snacks (or muffins and fruit, whatever) are served, and so on. Buyers would have a chance to compare everything for sale in the building, your agents could combine their resources to buy a great ad to draw in buyers, and maybe the units that are for sale will be seen by more people who are of the mind to buy! Your unit is gorgeous, by the way. Love it.

Thanks Laurie, for the idea. Nice web site and your real estate bizz model. We might be talking soon…
