Dog Park Goodness

Dedicated dog parks are good things.  It sets expectations.  If you’re a dog person, you and your pup(s) have a place to go.  If you aren’t a dog person, you can avoid it and keep your khakis nice and clean.  We took our little pup out to Bandix Dog Park in Kitsap County this weekend.  We try to get to Rogers Park as much as we can, but when we’re heading out SR-16, we have to stop at Bandix.  It’s bigger, has trails, and is a nice alternative to Roger.  We like Rogers Park because it’s small enough that we can be lazy and our boys can still burn off some energy.

The News Tribune ran a story this morning about the revised effort to get an off leash park at Fort Steilacoom. Protect Our Pets is leading the way and is trying to raise money to support the park.  If a private group in Kitsap can create Bandix from an unimproved piece of county land, Tacoma should be able to create a park within an already existing park.

I’ll be buying a fence post (pdf) later tonight.
