EFN Silver Spoon Awards

Here we are on a day of greenness. Green bagels at Metropolitan Market. Green sweaters all over the office. Freshly cut green grass on the lawn. Thinking about what we’ll be finding at Doyle’s this evening…

Back to real news… Our fine friends at the Emergency Food Network (EFN) have announced their 2008 Silver Spoon Award recipients. These are for individuals, businesses, groups, and organizations that significantly donated their time, talents, or resources to help EFN fulfill its mission of “providing a reliable food supply so that no person in Pierce County goes hungry.”

This year five community partners will be honored with Silver Spoon Awards: Tacoma Rail, Murray Pacific Corporation and Toby Murray, the Center for Service Learning at Pacific Lutheran University, Eatonville Family Agency, and the Empty Bowls Planning Team (Ginny Eberhardt, Retha Hayward, and Dianne Kimball).

The awards will be given out at the Recognition Breakfast on Tuesday, March 18, from 7:30-9:00 a.m. in Wheelock Student Center at the University of Puget Sound.

Kinda makes us green with envy. (sigh.)
