Environmental Forum at UPS

How can two nations deeply divided over such issues as baseball vs. hockey, 4 downs vs. 3, and Krispy Kreme vs. Tim Horton’s find common ground on the trivialities of the environment? That’s what will be discussed at next week’s Forum on US/Canadian Environmental Issues.

Hosted by Steve Scher, a radio host for Seattle’s KUOW, and Vaughn Palmer, political correspondent for the Vancouver Sun, the forum will cover topics ranging from Canadian coal mines that may pollute American national parks, the Western Climate Initiative to reduce carbon emissions, and San Juan island residents complaining of sewage from Victoria, BC.  The event takes place on Oct. 28 at 7pm in the University’s Schneebeck Concert Hall, and is free and open to the public. Visitors are encouraged to bring questions and join in the discussion.

This could be your chance to prevent tension over the Great Lakes from growing into the Great North American War, so speak up if you have an opinion.
