First Night 2009 is Almost Here

December is rolling right along. Office parties. Neighborhood parties. Party parties. Then, in less than two weeks, we have Christmas. (Less than two weeks?!) But, the best part of holidays in Tacoma follows Christmas.

First Night!

We’ve been getting inquiries and phone calls asking us if First Night was happening this year. Our answer? Yes it is!

What is First Night? “First Night is a family-friendly, alcohol-free, and most of all, a fabulously FUN celebration.” It fills several blocks of downtown Tacoma with people and good times. Basically, the whole city has a party outside, rain or shine, and all ages are invited.

This year is about the circus. The parade starts at 7:00 pm. There are street acts, stage acts, live music, and lots of things to see and do. We’ll be out there … but more on that later.

Are local restaurants open throughout the evening/night for this? Specifically the ones that serve libations?

    Please let me know.

    Thanks,

Sad they still don’t tell anyone that visits their website where the heck First Night takes place.

Take a look at their website and pretend you have never been to Tacoma before and have no clue about Tacoma or First Night. Would you be able to find it?

It’s true, info has been scarce. But you can find out where the stages are and who’s performing on the website. I heard through the grapevine that you can get your discount buttons (tickets) at the Pantages ticket booth now, but on the 31st you’ll have to pay full price.
