Fish Out Of Water - Back To School

Today I found myself in an environment relatively unfamiliar to me.  It was a little strange.  Quite odd really.  I found myself near UWT so I figured I’d take care of a few things.  Tomorrow is a big day for me.  You see, I’m going back to school.

I’d been to UWT several times for talks, to meet people, and as part of the pre-admission process.  This time, though, I felt lost.  Repeatedly I had to consult my checklist of tasks.  Buy course packet at the Copy Center.  Check.  I went in the wrong door, but… I got what I needed, right?  Pick up student ID.  Oh, I can’t do that until tomorrow I was told by the confused looking student behind the counter.  I wandered the bookstore and bought a new binder and a bound notebook.  I bought Post-It notes, a highlighter, and several textbooks.  I’m sure I looked lost in the textbooks.  I was lost.

It’s been about ten years since the last time I was a real student.  Orientation is tomorrow.  My first class is on Saturday.  I have homework to do for Saturday.
