Fleet Feet Sports Arrives in Tacoma
For everyone that was curious about that wee little building that disappeared in Proctor recently … we have some news that may excite our fellow Tacoma Runners.

Fleet Feet Sports is coming to Proctor. Fleet Feet bought and demolished the former ice cream/espresso building next to Chalet Bowl and will be replacing it with a new building they say will be “timeless and blend in with the rest of the Proctor District.” The new Fleet Feet retail store will specialize in the lifestyle of running and walking featuring technical gear, accessories, nutrition, and expertise. For runners – beginners to advanced – this should be a great new asset to the community.
We’ve been to the Fleet Feet store in Bonney Lake several times over the years and are excited to see this addition come to the Proctor neighborhood.

This is nice to hear. I won’t have to go to the mall to get my shoes anymore. And it’s close enough to me so I can literally run in. I wonder when the eta is for it to be up and operating.
The ice cream shop never seemed very busy. This should be great for the neighborhood.

I hope they place in a nice building on 26th Street in Proctor built up to the edge of the sidewalk with a lot of glass and do not cover it up with paper or posters.

Where was the South Sound Running representation at the Tacoma Marathon this weekend? Come to think of it, where have they been for a lot of events? Not the way to make a presence in the area,
