Friday Mile at New Frontier - and Free Passes

Are you looking to enjoy a bit of live music this week? If so, we have a great option for you … Friday Mile will be performing on Thursday, May 28th at the New Frontier Lounge. While technically considered a “Seattle Band”, Friday Mile insists that their roots are in Tacoma and that they read Exit133. They offer a great collection of original music and new sounds with just enough seasoning from past eras that you’ll immediately feel as if you’ve known about them for years.

That said, there are two free passes available for Exit133 readers. How do you get them? Leave a comment here (something insightful on the current state of our city, for example) and we’ll put your name in the hat. At the end of the work day on Wednesday, May 27th, we’ll pull a name.

P.S. We know some of you are a little internet shy so you can use an alias. HOWEVER, please use a legit email address so we can track you down.

Okay, so this is not my insightful comment … but I did go to college with Jace Krause (in Friday Mile) and wish I could make it to his show! So I can verify that he did go to college in Tacoma, where he performed regularly. :)

So clear your calendars and check this band out!
    They ROCK.

Having lived in Tacoma for a little over a year, I possess far less insight to the state of our city than many of those who may call Tacoma their birthplace. What I can say as an outsider, there is far more loyalty and love for hometown antics here in Tacoma than anywhere else I have lived. That alone makes me proud to be a new Tacoman.

I just realize that Tacoman is a scrunched together ‘Taco Man’ I’m proud to be that, too.

As a long time fan of Friday Mile, I can say they are worth the venture out.

They happen to be my daughters favorite band.

Having lived in Tacoma for about 13 years, and having had the opportunity to travel extensively around the world, I can honestly say this town is wholly unique in it’s offering of community life, environment, and vitality.

I appreciate the rich layering of influences, from our seedy reputation to the complex artisan culture to the financial industry powerhouse. it all blends into one dynamic community soup that, I have to say, is pretty tasty.

    peace,
    Lance
