Full Calendar of Food and Drink Events This Weekend in Tacoma

It’s going to be a good weekend in the Tacoma area for beer drinkers, foodies, and supporters of some of our favorite local businesses.
If you wanted to make a weekend of it, you could start off with outdoor entertainment, food and a beer or glass of wine at the annual Friday at the Fort 21+ fundraiser for Fort Nisqually. The weather promises to be pretty close to perfect for an evening on the lawn at Fort Nisqually.
Should you find yourself on the other side of the bridge (or be looking for a good excuse to check out that new Gig Harbor Trolley), the 7 Seas Brewing 4th Anniversary Bash sounds like a blast. This Saturday they’ll be taking over the parking lot in front of their new tasting room in downtown Gig Harbor with live music, local food vendors, and “a few antics.” We do like antics. If you want to skip the toll, the trip from Tacoma makes a beautiful bike ride.
While 7 Seas celebrates their fourth year brewing delicious beers, they’re just a baby compared to the Parkway Tavern, which will be celebrating this Saturday as well two Saturdays from now (August 10) with the Parkway 78th Birthday party. At 78 years young, the Parkway can still party with the best of them, with a beer garden, live music (possibly), a popsicle stand courtesy of Hill Top Pop Shop and (of course) BEER, lots and lots of delicious beer. Change of plans due to unforeseen circumstances.
So that’s your Friday and Saturday. On Sunday you’ll want to check out the second Moveable Feast food cart extravaganza at Cheney Stadium. Last year it was good, and this year sounds even better, with the addition of wine to the beer garden, and more local options, including a “Made in Tacoma” section in the ball park’s left field party decks.
And of course we can’t forget Ethnic Fest, which will fill Wright Park with booths, live music, dance, art, foods from around the world, and all sorts of fun and games both Saturday and Sunday. With two live stages and a free movie under the stars, it’s always an enjoyable way to broaden your cultural horizons.
And if all that isn’t enough for you, you could always see if you can track down a pint of the new Fearless Exploration Imperial Rye IPA from Harmon Brewing or quench your thirst with one of Tacoma Brewing‘s summer beers.
Phew, that’s a lot of work, better get on it - those beers aren’t going to drink themselves…
