Get Involved in Pierce County

Pierce County has a couple of commission vacancies that may be of interest to y’all.

For anyone interested in historic preservation, the Pierce County Landmarks Commission has one vacancy. The Landmarks Commission’s primary responsibility is to make recommendations to the Council and the Executive on all matters pertaining to the County’s rich cultural heritage. Given that there is some money for historic preservation, this is an opportunity to have an impact.

For all of you artsy folk out there, the Pierce County Arts Commission also has a vacancy. The Pierce County Arts Commission was formed in 1985 to serve as a volunteer advisory group to Pierce County government. The Commission is comprised of thirteen members appointed for their interest in and support of the arts.
