Goddess of Commerce

Back in the heyday of Tacoma there was a statue of a woman who reigned over the business of the city. The original statue was lost to WWII scrap metal, but a group of people would like to resurrect the Goddess. In Tollefson Plaza.

Goddess of Commerce is designed as a representation of Tacoma and its place now. She has a native American face, Thea Foss style dress, fish, museums, and port items incorporated into the statue. At 7ft tall, and with a 3-4ft base of granite (Mt. Rainier), the statue is proposed to stand in front of Two Koi, overlooking the plaza. The project is endorsed by Tacoma historical society.

Folks are out raising money for the execution of the project and are accepting tax deductible donations.
